The Fantastic Four First Steps Trailer's Release Date Revealed (And It's Close)

Marvel fans who are anxiously awaiting to see Pedro Pascal’s turn as Reed Richards (AKA Mr. Fantastic) won’t have to wait much longer. Per Comic Book, a trailer for the highly-anticipated The Fantastic Four: First Steps will premiere on Feb. 4 during ABC’s Good Morning America. ABC shared a press release on Jan. 31 stating that the premiere would happen on Feb. 4, but not long after the release was published, it was updated, and any mention of The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer was omitted. The question remains if ABC possibly advertised the trailer premiere before they were supposed to.
Comic Book published a screenshot of the press release that mentioned The Fantastic Four by name. The release stated: “Tuesday, Feb. 4 - Shop GMA series with ‘GMA’ lifestyle contributor Lori Bergamotto featuring Valentine’s Day gift ideas; the debut of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ movie trailer, nutritionist Rachel Beller discusses foods that keep cancer at bay; day two of American Heart Month with ABC News chief medical correspondent Dr. Tara Narula and information about heart health risk factors; ‘GMA’ February book club pick.” The Trailer Could Ultimately Debut During the Super Bowl
The release date for the trailer of the movie, which also stars Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Benn Grimm, has been up in the air with rumors mounting that it would debut during the Feb. 9 Super Bowl broadcast. It was previously reported that Disney bought two ad spots for upcoming MCU movies. The studio’s Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts will also be released in theaters this year.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set in a 1960s-inspired alternate timeline. Even prior to the trailer’s release, it has been confirmed that the actors will once again reprise their roles in Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027). First Steps has a premiere date of July 25, 2025. Fans will ultimately have to wait and see if the trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps debuts on Feb. 4. Julia Garner, who plays Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer in First Steps, is excited about the movie’s summer release. “It’s a big universe, and I feel so grateful I get to be a little part of it, to be honest,” Garner told Comic Book in a recent interview. “Everybody on that job, I think the casting is phenomenal and they’re so wonderful. And (director) Matt Shakman is amazing. I’m very excited,” Garner said. Shakman said last year that the movie’s tone gets its inspiration from retrofuturism and the 1960s “space race.”Shakman said First Steps will be “infused with the idea of looking to the stars and dreaming of a future where we would be space travelers. And so I really wanted to take all of that great stuff from Apollo 11 and just imagine that instead of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, it was the Storms and Ben Grimm and Reed Richards heading off into space.” The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters on July 25, 2025.
